Chezatte Description
“Hailing from one of our more popular Sancerre producers. Domaine De La Chezatte comes from the Coteaux Giennois. The blanc accounts for 60 percent of total output: they are crispy, minerally, and with aromas of flowers and yellow and white fruits like peach and quince. The soil in Coteaux du Giennois AOC principally consists of limestone or silica, and sometimes flint is also present. That is why the wines made in this region offer a diverse range of flavours, just like in Sancerre. In this Coteaux du Giennois Sauvignon Blanc, you will find a distinct note of flinty minerality, with a smoky note on the nose. On the palate, the white fruits balance out the acidity to make a refreshing white for summer. The climate in the region is temperate with continental influences, due to which the area has cold winters and warm summers. As there has been a shortage of Sancerre for the last two vintages, this is an excellent alternative.”
